Questions parents ask us
A few things families often want to know before their first visit.
When should my child first see a dentist?
Most pediatric dentists recommend a first dental visit by your child’s first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth coming in, whichever comes first. Early visits help catch concerns sooner and get kids comfortable with dental care from the start.
What should we bring to the first appointment?
Bring any dental records or x-rays from a previous dentist, your insurance card, and a list of any medications your child takes. Completing new patient forms ahead of time also helps the visit go smoothly.
Do you accept dental insurance?
We work with a range of dental insurance plans. Give our office a call with your plan details and we’ll help confirm your coverage before your visit.
What if my child is nervous about the dentist?
That’s completely normal, and it’s exactly what we’re here for. Our team is trained to help anxious kids feel safe and comfortable, and we go at a pace that works for your child.
Until what age do you see patients?
We typically see patients through their teenage years, and can help with a smooth transition to a general dentist when the time comes.
